Today, we asked Dr. Kendra Velez, a board-certified Pediatrics specialist at Watson Clinic North Pediatrics, to share a selfie and a few details about herself. Would you rather read the book or see the movie? I prefer to read the book. The movie is just not the same. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. I use the library app because I read so many books. The most I have read in a year is 75 books, I would love one day to read 100 books in one year. I love all types of books—mystery, modern romance, suspense, nonfiction. Last great book I read: The Measure by Nikki Erlick, which asks what you would do if you knew how much longer you had to live? Fascinating! What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your life? My favorite word in the English language is PERSPECTIVE. All of us go through trials and tribulations. When you realize you are a small part of this big wonderful world, you can put things into perspective, it doesn’t make things seem as big or as small. What is your favorite sports team or sporting event? Definitely Orlando City Soccer Club! I have been a season ticket holder for the last 11 years, all 10 seasons in MLS. It is one of my favorite date nights with my husband. Soccer really is a beautiful sport, and I love Orlando. My close friends would say I am….? Funny, loyal, honest, and supportive. What do you like most about working at Watson Clinic? I will be celebrating 16 years at Watson Clinic this year and I have always loved that we put the patient first. I love working with my colleagues--all the team members, physicians, and supporting staff that make this a great place to work!
